Wegmans Food Stores Products Containing Micro Greens, Sweet Pea Leaves, and Cat Grass have been voluntarily recalled in the USA due to a potential health risk.

Wegmans Food Markets is voluntarily recalling products containing micro greens, sweet pea leaves, and cat grass because they may contain Salmonella.

Salmonella can cause serious and fatal infections in young children, elderly people, and people with weakened immune systems. the symptoms include fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and stomach pain. In rare cases, Salmonella infection can cause the organism to enter the bloodstream and cause more serious ailments such as arterial infections (infected aneurysms), endocarditis, and arthritis.

The supplier of Wegmans Organic Farm, bio365 of Ithaca, New York, tested positive for Salmonella in some of the soil the products were cultivated in. This recall has not been linked to any illnesses.
