A lack of import inspection led to the recall of about 96,000 pounds goat products.

Dahlia Imports has recalled approximately 96624 pounds of raw bone in goat products due to the lack of import inspection in the US.

The products were imported from Australia to United States around April 11, 2022, and Sept. 28, 2022. 

During the inspections these products were not found as a result US department of agriculture’s food safety and inspection service announced about the recall.  The recalled products do not contain USDA inspection mark.  Each box bears the 101 Australia establishment seal. The products were distributed to Arizona and other states.

Product Details:

  • 35.27-pound cases of “BONE-IN GOAT CUBED PIECES” with 2.2-pound plastic bags of “BONE-IN GOAT CUBES” and the shipping mark WEX11734A printed on the case.
  • 2.2-lb plastic bags of “BONE-IN GOAT CUBES BROWN SKIN-ON” are packaged in 35.27-lb cases of “BONE-IN GOAT SKIN-ON CUBED PIECES BROWN” that bear the WEX11734B, WEX11734C, or WEX11734D shipping mark.
  • Cases weighing between 56 and 60 pounds containing “BONE-IN GOAT ASSORTED CUTS BROWN SKIN-ON” and bearing the shipping marks WEX11734E, WEX11734F, WEX11533A, WEX11533B, WEX11533C, or WEX11533D.

Consumer Advice:

The FSIS is worried that some products might be in the freezers of distributors or retailers. Consumers who bought these products are advised not to consume them.
