The recalled product was distributed in Ontario.
The recall applies to Wu Xian Zhai Vegetarian Beef (Sauce) sold in 108 g packages with UPC 6 924878 900955. The recall includes all codes where wheat and egg are not declared on the product label.
Consumers who are allergic or sensitive to wheat or egg should not consume the recalled product, as it may cause a serious or potentially life-threatening allergic reaction.
In addition, individuals with celiac disease or other gluten-related disorders should not consume the product because it contains undeclared wheat (gluten), which may result in serious adverse health effects.
Consumers are advised to check whether they have the recalled product and avoid consuming it if they are allergic or sensitive to wheat or egg, or if they have celiac disease or another gluten-related disorder.
The product should not be served, used, sold, or distributed. Consumers should dispose of the recalled product or return it to the place of purchase.
The CFIA is conducting a food safety investigation and monitoring the effectiveness of the recall. Additional recalls may be issued if more affected products are identified.
