Salmonella Contamination in Parfait and Yogurt Bowls

Yogurt bowls made with Quaker granola recalled over possible salmonella  exposure

In response to a potential Salmonella contamination, a nationwide recall has been issued for various parfait and yogurt bowls sold under the Loblaw brand. The affected products, distributed across Canada, were manufactured using granola that was previously recalled by Quaker Canada on January 11, 2024.

Recalled Products:

  1. Dragon Fruit Parfait (250 g) – UPC: Contains 244327
  2. Mango Parfait (250 g) – UPC: Contains 244326
  3. Blueberry Yogurt Parfait with Almond Granola (260 g) – UPC: Contains 234550
  4. Honey Greek Yogurt Parfait with Berry and Almond Granola (295 g) – UPC: Contains 255275
  5. Greek Yogurt Parfait with Acai and Almond Granola (305 g) – UPC: Contains 250145
  6. Acai Mixed with Berry Parfait and Almond Granola (295 g) – UPC: Contains 250131
  7. Yogurt Parfait Strawberry, “Blueberrie” and Almond Granola (295 g) – UPC: Contains 252233
  8. Yogurt and Peach Parfait with Almond Granola (255 g) – UPC: Contains 250262
  9. Yogurt Raspberry Banana Parfait with Almond Granola (290 g) – UPC: Contains 250148
  10. Yogurt and Strawberries Parfait with Almond Granola (260 g) – UPC: Contains 231027

Affected Regions:

  • Atlantic: Atlantic Superstore, Dominion, Atlantic Your Independent Grocer, Wholesale Club
  • Quebec: Provigo, Maxi, Wholesale Club
  • Ontario: Superstore, Fortinos, Loblaw, Valu-Mart, Your Independent Grocer, Zehrs
  • Western Canada: Superstore, Your Independent Grocer, Extra Foods, Wholesale Club

The recall also extends to independent franchises in Western Canada and includes various banners under the Sobeys corporation.

Health Advisory: Consumers are advised not to consume, serve, use, sell, or distribute the recalled products. If you suspect illness due to consumption, contact your healthcare provider immediately.

Symptoms of Salmonella Contamination: Symptoms may include fever, headache, vomiting, nausea, abdominal cramps, and diarrhea. Serious infections can occur, particularly in young children, pregnant women, the elderly, and individuals with weakened immune systems.Consumers are urged to check their homes for the listed products and to refrain from using them.
