Undeclared Fish Allergen in Mussel Pie Batch

Maketū Foods Ltd in NewZealand has issued a recall for a specific batch of Maketū Pies brand Mussel Pie due to the presence of an undeclared allergen – fish. The recall was initiated after it was discovered that Maketū Pies brand Smoked Fish Pie had been mistakenly packaged as Maketū Pies brand Mussel Pie.

  • Date Marking: Fresh: Use By 25 APR 2024 | Frozen: Best Before 15 MAR 2025
  • Package Size: 200g paper packet
  • Distribution: Sold at selected service stations, retail outlets, Four Square, New World, and Pak’n Save supermarkets throughout New Zealand.

Consumer Advice: Customers are advised to check the batch and date mark on the front of the packaging. Those with a fish allergy should refrain from consuming this product. If already consumed and concerns arise about health, medical advice should be sought. Customers with a fish allergy are urged to return the product to their retailer for a full refund.
