Ukrop's Homestyle Foods Products recalled due to Metal Contamination

Ukrop’s Homestyle Foods has recalled approximately 22,880 pounds of ready-to-eat baked spaghetti and chicken cobbler products after they were found to be at risk of contamination with metal slivers, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS).

The recall affects products manufactured between July 1 and July 29, 2026, that were distributed to retail stores in North Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, as well as to the Department of Defense and through online sales.

Recalled Products

The recall includes the following items with Best By dates from July 8, 2026, through August 5, 2026:

Ukrop’s Baked Spaghetti – Bulk, 62.4-ounce aluminum pan with plastic overwrap (Est. 19979)
Ukrop’s Baked Spaghetti, 14.8-ounce cardboard tray with plastic overwrap (Est. 19979)
Ukrop’s Chicken Cobbler – Bulk, 48-ounce aluminum pan with plastic overwrap (Est. P-19979)
Ukrop’s Chicken Cobbler, 11.6-ounce cardboard tray with plastic overwrap (Est. P-19979)

Reason for the Recall

The recall was initiated after the company received a consumer complaint reporting a metal fragment in one of the fully cooked products. An investigation determined that the affected products may contain metal slivers, prompting the precautionary recall.

Reported Injuries

At the time of the recall announcement, no confirmed injuries had been reported in connection with the affected products. However, anyone concerned about a possible injury after consuming the products should contact a healthcare provider.

What Consumers Should Do

Consumers are advised to not eat the recalled baked spaghetti or chicken cobbler products.

If you have any of the affected items in your refrigerator or freezer, discard them immediately or return them to the place of purchase for a refund.

The USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service warns that some recalled products may still be in consumers’ homes and urges shoppers to check product labels and Best By dates carefully.
