M.C.I. Foods Inc. has announced a recall of several frozen breakfast burrito and wrap products following concerns about potential Listeria monocytogenes contamination in the egg ingredient.

According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS), the recalled items were produced between September 17 and October 14.

The affected products include:

  1. El Más Fino Egg, Ham, and Cheese Breakfast Burrito
  2. El Más Fino Egg, Sausage, and Cheese Breakfast Burrito
  3. Los Cabos Sausage, Egg & 3 Cheese Breakfast Burrito
  4. Los Cabos Egg, Cheese, Potato & Cooked Sausage Crumbles (Made with Turkey) Breakfast Wrap
  5. Midamar Egg, Cheese & Beef with Sausage Seasoning Breakfast Wrap

The issue came to light when M.C.I. Foods reported a positive Listeria test result in the scrambled egg component supplied by an external vendor during routine sampling and testing.

Consumers are urged not to consume these products and to either dispose of them safely or return them to the place of purchase. FSIS and M.C.I. Foods are working together to ensure that all potentially affected products are removed from the market.
