Clear Plastic Found in Too Easy Meals Chicken Product, Recall Issued Nationwide

New Zealand Food Safety has announced a recall of Too Easy Meals Crumbed Chicken & Gravy products due to the possible presence of foreign matter (clear plastic).

The recall was initiated on 13 May 2026 by Presbyterian Support Services (South Canterbury) Ltd.

Recalled Product Details

The affected product is:

  • Too Easy Meals Crumbed Chicken & Gravy (350g)

The impacted batches include products:

  • Produced between 2 April 2026 and 4 May 2026
  • With Best Before dates ranging from 2 April 2027 to 4 May 2027

The product was sold frozen and no other Too Easy Meals products are affected by this recall.

Where the Product Was Sold

The recalled product was available at:

  • Presbyterian Support South Canterbury (PSSC) Administration Office, Timaru
  • Presbyterian Support South Canterbury (Strathallan), Timaru
  • Online through Too Easy Frozen Meals – Presbyterian Support Services

The company confirmed that the product has not been exported.

Consumer Advice

Consumers are advised to check the best before date located on the back label of the product. Affected products should not be consumed due to the risk posed by clear plastic contamination.

Although no injuries or illnesses have been reported in connection with the recalled product, consumers who have eaten the product and are concerned about their health are encouraged to seek medical advice.
