July 27, 2026 Canada

Cadbury - Dairy Milk Oreo Candy (bar) - 12 x 38 g - Front

Cadbury has issued a nationwide recall of its Dairy Milk Oreo Candy chocolate bars after it was discovered that the products may contain undeclared pistachio, posing a potentially serious health risk to people with tree nut allergies.

The recall, announced on 24 July 2026, affects both 38 g individual bars and 12 × 38 g multipacks distributed nationwide.

Why is the product being recalled?

The affected products may contain pistachio, a tree nut allergen that is not declared on the product label. People who are allergic or sensitive to pistachios or other tree nuts could suffer a serious or even life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume the recalled chocolate bars.

Affected products

The recall includes Cadbury Dairy Milk Oreo Candy (bar) 38 g with UPC 0 61200 01445 7, and Cadbury Dairy Milk Oreo Candy (bar) 12 × 38 g with UPC 0 61200 01444 0.

The affected production codes are 2026 NO 27 OEC3854844, 2026 NO 27 OEC3854845, 2026 NO 27 OEC3854846, 2027 JA 5 OEC3860215, and 2027 JA 5 OEC3860216.

What consumers should do

Consumers should check whether they have any of the recalled products at home. Anyone with a tree nut or pistachio allergy should not consume the affected chocolate bars.

The recalled products should not be sold, served, used, or distributed. Consumers are advised to either dispose of the products safely or return them to the retailer where they were purchased for a refund or replacement, subject to the store’s return policy.

Health risks

Tree nut allergies can trigger symptoms ranging from mild itching and hives to severe reactions such as swelling of the face and throat, breathing difficulties, vomiting, dizziness, and anaphylaxis, which is a medical emergency requiring immediate treatment.

Anyone who experiences signs of an allergic reaction after consuming the recalled product should seek emergency medical care without delay.

Recall investigation

The recall was initiated after it was found that the affected chocolate bars may contain undeclared pistachio, making the product unsafe for consumers with tree nut allergies. Food safety authorities are overseeing the recall process to ensure the affected products are removed from the marketplace and to protect consumers from potential allergen-related health risks.
