Woolworths brand Multi Grain Cereal (500g) has been recalled in New Zealand because the product may contain foreign matter, specifically pieces of blue plastic.
The recall was issued by Woolworths New Zealand Limited and applies only to the affected cereal with a best before date of 30 April 2027. No other Woolworths brand products are affected.
The recalled cereal was sold at Woolworths, Fresh Choice and SuperValue supermarkets throughout New Zealand.
The product was also exported to Cook Islands, Fiji, French Polynesia, Malaysia, Niue and Samoa.
The presence of blue plastic creates a foreign matter and physical contamination risk. Although there have been no reports of related injuries, consumers are advised not to eat the affected product.
Anyone who has consumed the cereal and has concerns about their health should seek medical advice.
Consumers should check the best before date on their Woolworths Multi Grain Cereal.
If the product is marked 30/04/27, it should not be consumed. Consumers should return the affected product to the retailer for a full refund.
Retailers have also been instructed to remove the affected product from sale and display the recall notice in stores.
