Sun Noodle of Honolulu, Hawaii, is voluntarily recalling 134 packages of Sura Tanmen Hot and Sour Flavor Premium Japanese Noodles & Soup Base because the product may contain an undeclared fish allergen.
The recall was announced by the company on August 5, 2026, and published by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on August 6, 2026.
The recalled product is 15.4-ounce Sura Tanmen Hot and Sour Flavor Premium Japanese Noodles & Soup Base, bearing lot code 1226183. The product was distributed exclusively in Hawaii through retailers and food distributors between July 9 and July 29, 2026.

The recall was initiated after Sun Noodle received a consumer inquiry reporting that the soup base in the kit did not match the expected Sura Tanmen soup base.
An internal investigation found that a soba sauce containing fish had mistakenly been packed into the Sura Tanmen kits. Fish was not declared as an allergen on the product packaging.
People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to fish could face a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume the recalled product.
No illnesses or allergic reactions had been reported at the time of the recall.
Consumers who purchased Sura Tanmen with lot code 1226183 are urged not to consume the product and should return it to the original place of purchase for a full refund.
Sun Noodle said the issue was traced to a single production run and has been corrected. The company has reviewed subsequent production lots and confirmed they contain the correct soup base. It is also reviewing its packing verification procedures to prevent the issue from happening again.
