Mac and Cheese Recalled Over Risk of 'Serious or Life-Threatening Allergic  Reaction'

BEF Foods, Inc. has voluntarily recalled more than 525,000 packages of Park St. Deli Macaroni & Cheese distributed nationwide in the United States due to the presence of undeclared soy lecithin, a known allergen.

According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the recall affects 58,405 cases, equivalent to 525,645 individual packages. The affected product is sold in 20-ounce packages packaged in a plastic tub inside a paperboard sleeve, with nine packages per case.

The FDA has classified the recall as a Class II recall, indicating that use of or exposure to the product may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences, although the likelihood of serious health effects is considered low.

Individuals with a soy allergy or sensitivity are advised not to consume the recalled product. Consumers should dispose of the product or return it to the place of purchase for a refund.
