June 2, 2026 USA

Frozen Pizza Sold at Costco, Walmart, Target Recalled Nationwide for Salmonella Risk - Parade

Champion Foods has announced a nationwide recall of its Motor City Pizza Co. 5 Cheese Bread products due to potential contamination with Salmonella, following concerns linked to recalled dry milk powder supplied by California Dairies.

The recall affects both single-box and two-pack varieties of Motor City Pizza Co. 5 Cheese Bread sold through major grocery retailers across the United States, including Walmart, Kroger, Costco, Publix, Target, Meijer, Hy-Vee, Jewel, Schnucks, Food City, Grocery Outlet, SpartanNash, UNFI, and several other distributors.

According to Champion Foods, the recall stems from a seasoning blend used in the product’s 5-cheese sauce. The seasoning blend contained dry milk powder sourced from a supplier involved in an ongoing Salmonella-related recall.

While routine testing conducted by the seasoning manufacturer did not detect Salmonella in the seasoning batches used for production, Champion Foods said it is recalling the products out of an abundance of caution to protect consumers.
