Aldi Meatballs Recalled Nationwide After Reports of Metal Fragments

Frozen meatballs recalled due to possible metal contamination; sent to Aldi's  nationwide | WGCU News | PBS & NPR for Southwest Florida

Nearly 9,500 pounds of frozen meatballs sold at Aldi stores nationwide have been recalled after a consumer reported finding metal pieces in the product.

According to the USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS), Rosina Food Products Inc. of West Seneca, New York, is recalling 9,462 pounds of ready-to-eat (RTE) fully cooked frozen meatballs.

Affected Product Details

The recall applies to:

  1. Bremer FAMILY SIZE ITALIAN STYLE MEATBALLS
  2. 32-ounce printed poly film bag
  3. Approximately 64 meatballs per package
  4. Best By: October 30, 2026
  5. Time stamps between 17:08 through 18:20 (printed on back label)
  6. Establishment number EST. 4286B inside the USDA mark of inspection

The affected meatballs were produced on July 30, 2025, and distributed to Aldi supermarket locations nationwide. Due to the product’s 15-month shelf life, officials warn that consumers may still have it stored in their freezers.

How the Issue Was Identified

The recall was initiated after FSIS received a consumer complaint regarding metal fragments found in the meatballs. At this time, there have been no confirmed reports of injury linked to the product.

What Consumers Should Do

  • Do not consume the recalled meatballs.
  • Check packaging for the listed Best By date and time stamp.
  • Discard the product or return it to the place of purchase.
  • Seek medical attention if you believe you may have been injured.

FSIS continues to monitor the recall to ensure the affected products are removed from commerce.
