Ice Tube Recalled Due to Undeclared Milk Allergen

May 22, 2025 New Zealand

Savour World Pty Ltd due to the presence of an undeclared milk allergen. The frozen dessert, imported from South Korea, has been distributed across selected ethnic supermarkets in New Zealand.

Product Details

The affected batch, marked 20241107 – 20261106 F1, carries a best before date of November 6, 2026. It is sold in 130ml plastic tubes, individually packaged. No other Binggrae brand products are impacted by this recall.

The recall was prompted after it was discovered that milk was not declared on the product label. While the product is safe for the general population, it may pose a serious health risk to individuals with milk allergies or lactose intolerance. Even a small quantity of milk protein can cause an allergic reaction in sensitive individuals, which may result in symptoms such as skin rashes, vomiting, abdominal cramps, wheezing, swelling of the lips or throat, and in severe cases, anaphylaxis. This life-threatening condition requires urgent medical attention and can occur quickly after consumption.

Consumers are urged to check the batch code and best before date on the product packaging. Anyone with a milk allergy or intolerance should avoid consuming this product. Those who have already consumed the ice tube and are feeling unwell should consult a healthcare professional without delay. Individuals who are not allergic to milk are not affected by this recall.

Consumers with affected products can return them to the place of purchase for a full refund. Retailers have been instructed to display a point-of-sale recall notice for a period of one month to alert customers.

For any queries, consumers may contact Asian Savour World Pty Ltd at 09 573 1988 or visit them at 95 McLaughlins Road, Wiri, Auckland.
