The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has issued a recall for Hak brand Kale and Spinach products due to the presence of extraneous material—specifically, pieces of rubber. This recall affects products distributed in Alberta, British Columbia, and Ontario.

Affected Products:

  • Hak Kale (340 g) – UPC: 8720600608605
  • Hak Kale (680 g) – UPC: 8720600609824
  • Hak Spinach (330 g) – UPC: 8720600608940
  • Hak Spinach (630 g) – UPC: 8720600609817

All affected products have codes ranging from LG262 up to and including LG292.

Health Risk:

The presence of rubber pieces in food products poses a choking hazard and may cause injury if consumed. While there have been no reported illnesses associated with these products, consumers are advised to exercise caution.

What You Should Do:

  • Do not consume the recalled products.
  • Return the products to the place of purchase for a refund or dispose of them safely.
