A Kehar brand Californian Pistachio Kernel product has been recalled in Alberta and British Columbia due to possible Salmonella contamination.
The recall was issued on August 6, 2026, after the affected products were identified as potentially contaminated with Salmonella.
Consumers are being advised not to consume, serve, use, sell or distribute the recalled products.

Consumers should check whether they have any of the recalled products and should not eat them. Recalled products should be thrown away or returned to the place where they were purchased.
Anyone who believes they became sick after consuming a recalled product should contact a healthcare provider.
Food contaminated with Salmonella may not look or smell spoiled but can still cause illness. Symptoms can include fever, headache, vomiting, nausea, abdominal cramps and diarrhea. Young children, pregnant women, older adults and people with weakened immune systems may develop serious and potentially life-threatening infections.
Long-term complications can also include severe arthritis.
