Taylor Fresh Foods has voluntarily recalled a wide range of iceberg lettuce products sourced from Central Mexico after they were identified as potentially contaminated with Cyclospora, a parasite that can cause foodborne illness. The recall was initiated following an ongoing multistate Cyclospora outbreak investigation being conducted by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and state health authorities.
According to the company, Taylor Farms de Mexico, located in Guanajuato, Mexico, has stopped receiving product from the implicated lot, suspended distribution of iceberg lettuce sourced from Central Mexico, and notified customers while working closely with public health officials to remove the affected products from the market.
The recall includes numerous food service and retail iceberg lettuce products sold under the following brands:
CV, JB, MARK, MKTSD, PK, SUB, SY, and TF.
Affected products include shredded lettuce, chopped lettuce, iceberg salad, lettuce salad mixes, and iceberg-romaine lettuce blends (50/50, 70/30, and 80/20). Depending on the product, the Best if Used By dates range from 16 July 2026 through 3 August 2026.
The recalled iceberg lettuce products were distributed between 29 June and 16 July 2026 across 27 U.S. states, including:
Alabama, Arkansas, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, Missouri, Mississippi, North Carolina, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and Wisconsin.
The affected products were supplied to both food service establishments and retail outlets, increasing the potential for widespread consumer exposure.
The recall was issued because the products may be contaminated with Cyclospora, a microscopic parasite that causes the intestinal illness cyclosporiasis.
People infected with Cyclospora commonly experience watery diarrhea, frequent bowel movements, loss of appetite, weight loss, stomach cramps, bloating, increased gas, nausea, and fatigue. Some individuals may also develop vomiting, body aches, headaches, or fever, while others may show no symptoms at all.
Without appropriate treatment, the illness can persist for several weeks or even longer, with symptoms that may disappear and then return. In some cases, the infection can lead to dehydration and other serious complications requiring medical attention. Individuals with weakened immune systems are at a greater risk of developing prolonged or more severe illness.
Consumers are advised to immediately stop consuming any recalled iceberg lettuce products. The company recommends discarding the affected products or returning them to the place of purchase for a full refund.
