NZ Muscle Limited has recalled selected NZ Muscle Creatine (Unflavoured) and No Brand Creatine Monohydrate products due to the possible presence of undeclared milk, posing a health risk to consumers with a milk allergy or intolerance.
The recall affects products with the best before date of JUN27, sold in 200 g, 500 g, and 1 kg pack sizes. The affected products were available through selected retailers across New Zealand and online via the NZ Muscle website. Some products were also exported to Australia through cross-border e-commerce.
The recalled products include:
Consumers with a milk allergy or intolerance are advised not to consume the affected products, as the undeclared allergen could trigger an allergic reaction. Those who have consumed the products and have concerns about their health should seek medical advice.
The recall does not affect consumers who are not allergic or intolerant to milk.
Customers with a milk allergy or intolerance should return the affected products to the place of purchase for a full refund. Retailers have been instructed to remove the products from sale and display a point-of-sale recall notice for one month.
Undeclared allergens remain one of the leading causes of food recalls worldwide. Accurate allergen labeling is essential to protect consumers with food allergies and ensure they can make informed purchasing decisions.
