


Various brands of Curry Powder Madras are being recalled in British Columbia after it was discovered that the products contain mustard that is not declared on the label, posing a serious risk to consumers with mustard allergies.
The recall was issued because mustard, a priority food allergen in Canada, was present in the affected products but not listed in the ingredient declaration. Individuals allergic or sensitive to mustard may experience reactions ranging from mild symptoms to severe or life-threatening anaphylaxis.
The recall includes the following brands and pack sizes:
Multiple lot codes are affected, including codes ranging from 302-25 to 015-26, depending on the brand and size.
Consumers are advised to:
Check product packaging and lot codes carefully.
Avoid consuming the recalled products if allergic or sensitive to mustard.
Not serve, sell, or distribute the affected items.
Dispose of the products or return them to the place of purchase.
At the time of the notice, no illnesses were publicly reported in connection with the recalled products. The CFIA continues to monitor the situation as part of its food safety investigation and recall process.
