Face Rock Creamery, an artisanal cheese producer based in Bandon, Oregon, has voluntarily recalled its Vampire Slayer Garlic Cheddar Curds (6 oz. cups) due to potential contamination with Listeria monocytogenes, a harmful foodborne bacterium.
Northern California: including Monterey, Fresno, and all locations north
Northern Nevada: including Carson City, Reno, and Sparks
Retailer: Trader Joe’s
Listeria monocytogenes is known to cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in vulnerable individuals such as young children, the elderly, pregnant women, and people with compromised immune systems.
No illnesses have been reported to date. The recall was initiated after routine product sampling detected the presence of listeria in finished goods.
