Tuna recall: Throw out this canned tuna sold at Walmart, Trader Joe's, Costco ASAP - nj.com

February 10, 2025 – Tri-Union Seafoods has issued an urgent recall for select Genova®, Van Camp’s®, H-E-B, and Trader Joe’s® canned tuna due to a potential Clostridium botulinum contamination. The defect stems from a faulty “easy open” pull tab, which may compromise the can’s seal, leading to contamination. Botulism is a life-threatening illness—consumers are urged NOT to consume these products, even if they appear normal.

The affected products were distributed across major retailers, including Costco, Walmart, Safeway, Publix, Kroger, Trader Joe’s, and H-E-B, in multiple U.S. states.
