The recalled instant noodles in Singapore were not imported into Thailand, Says FDA Thailand

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Thailand reported on Friday that Thailand has not received any of the instant noodles made in Indonesia that were recalled in Singapore owing to pesticide contamination. Weerachai Nolwachai, the FDA Thailand’s deputy secretary-general, stated that the organisation has learned that none of the four Mie Sedaap items that have been recalled in Singapore have been imported into Thailand.

According to him, the FDA Thailand has tested samples of Mie Sedaap goods imported into Thailand for the presence of ethylene oxide, a pesticide that is prohibited from use in food items, and has directed provincial public health offices around the nation to keep an eye on the products’ sales. He said that the FDA Thailand has rigorous policies in place to regulate the import of food items and closely track instances of food safety abroad.

The FDA Thailand has requested that Thai companies stop importing and selling eight Mie Sedaap instant noodle products, including Korean Spicy Chicken, Korean Spicy Chicken Cup, Mi Goreng Perisa Asli, Mi Goreng Cup, Mi Goreng Ayam Krispi, Korean Spicy Soup, Korean Spicy Soup Cup, and Mi Goreng Spicylicious.

Four Mie Sedaap items from Indonesia were withdrawn earlier this month by the Singapore Food Agency because they contained ethylene oxide. The goods were Korean Spicy Soup, Korean Spicy Chicken, Curry Flavor, and Mie Sedaap Soto.
