
Two food items from Lidl have been withdrawn due to safety concerns in Ireland. Customers have been warned not to consume a specific batch of Smoked 100% Irish Ham Fillet and Unsmoked 100% Irish Ham Fillet because the label has improper boiling instructions.

A batch of Anitca Macelleria Falorni il Salame Con Cinghiale has also been recalled due to the presence of E. coli that produces the Shiga toxin. The symptoms include non-bloody diarrhea, severe bloody diarrhea, and abdominal discomfort. A complication known as haemolytic uraemic syndrome in which the red blood cells are damaged and the kidneys fail, can be brought on by infection in elderly people and children under the age of five. The problematic batches bear the IT 1524S CE certification code. The affected batch has been removed from sale.
