A Christmas dessert has been withdrawn due to a packaging mix-up that could harm people who are allergic to nuts. Chocolatier Australia is recalling a six-pack of Plum Puddings because they were mislabeled as Christmas Caramels.
The puddings contain the ingredient tree nuts, which are not present in the Christmas Caramels and are therefore not specified on the box, raising the possibility of an allergic hazard.
Food Standards Australia New Zealand reports that the product has been offered for sale in a number of independent shops nationally. Consumers who have the product should not eat it and should return it to the place where they purchased it for a full refund.
