The Singapore Food Agency (SFA) has ordered the halt of sales of five batches of Nestlé infant and follow-on formula products following reports of possible contamination with cereulide, a toxin produced by certain strains of Bacillus cereus.
The advisory, issued on January 8, was implemented in coordination with the Communicable Diseases Agency (CDA). Consumers who have purchased the affected products were advised not to feed them to infants while investigations and laboratory testing are ongoing.
The SFA identified the following five batches as affected:
Products removed from stores (precautionary removal since end-December 2025):
NAN HA 1 SupremePro 800g
Batch: 51470017C1
NAN HA 2 SupremePro 800g
Batch: 51420017C4
NAN HA 1 SupremePro 800g
Batch: 51460017C2
Products not distributed in Singapore:
NAN HA 3 SupremePro 800g
Batch: 53030017C1
NAN HA 3 SupremePro Sachet 32g
Batch: 53030017B1
Nestlé Singapore confirmed that three of the five batches had already been removed from retail shelves as a precaution, while the remaining two batches were never distributed locally.
The precautionary measure was taken due to concerns about possible contamination with cereulide, a heat-stable toxin that can cause nausea, vomiting, abdominal cramps, and diarrhoea. Powdered infant formula is not sterile, and regulators emphasized the need for caution while safety assessments are completed.
Nestlé Singapore stated that all five batches have undergone thorough testing and that test results are being shared with the SFA.
“The safety of our products and the well-being of infants is our highest priority. We encourage consumers to follow the guidance issued by the Singapore Food Agency,” the company said.
The SFA and CDA reiterated that the sales halt is a precautionary measure while checks for cereulide are conducted.
Major retailers including FairPrice Group and Guardian confirmed that all affected products have been removed from their stores.
