Severe Allergen Risk: Dubai-Style Chocolates Recalled Over Undeclared Nuts

August 7, 2025 United Kingdom

Urgent recall issued for viral chocolate bar that poses 'serious' health risk | HELLO!
A serious Food Alert for Action has been issued for Noesis, Fix it, and Le Damas Dubai-style chocolate products sold in the UK. These chocolates have been found to contain undeclared peanuts and mixed tree nuts (almonds, cashews, and walnuts), posing a severe risk to individuals with nut allergies. The recall affects all batches and all best-before dates of these products.

Products Under Recall:

  • Noesis Shokolade Love of Dubai – 95g

  • Fix it Dubai Kunafa Chocolate – 50g

  • Le Damas Dubai Chocolate Kunafa and Pistachio – 200g

All lot numbers and all best-before dates are included.

Why This Recall Is Critical:
These products are distributed by Black Sea Trading Ltd, a company that is currently uncontactable by authorities. Due to the undeclared presence of multiple allergens, food businesses are instructed to immediately cease sales, withdraw stock, and initiate recalls where applicable. Failure to act could expose allergic individuals to potentially life-threatening reactions.

Health Risk Details:
Undeclared nuts are a major food safety violation, particularly dangerous for those with nut allergies. Ingestion of even a trace amount can trigger reactions ranging from mild to fatal.

Common symptoms include:

  • Skin reactions such as hives, redness, or itching
  • Swelling of the lips, face, or throat
  • Gastrointestinal discomfort: nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea
  • Difficulty breathing or wheezing
  • Anaphylaxis – a rapid, severe allergic reaction requiring emergency intervention

Nut allergies are non-curable and persistent, and strict avoidance is the only way to prevent adverse reactions. The presence of multiple undeclared nuts in these chocolates greatly increases the risk for cross-allergic individuals.

Advice to Consumers and Food Businesses:
Consumers with a peanut or tree nut allergy should not consume these products under any circumstance. If already purchased, they should be disposed of safely at home. Customers are also encouraged to report the point of purchase to their local Trading Standards office (Great Britain) or Environmental Health Officers (Northern Ireland).

Food businesses must immediately stop selling the affected items and cooperate with local food authorities to ensure full withdrawal and recall protocols are followed.
