Salmonella-contaminated food may not show any visible signs of spoilage but can still pose serious health risks. Those infected may experience fever, headache, nausea, vomiting, abdominal cramps, and diarrhea. In some cases, the illness can become severe, especially among young children, elderly individuals, pregnant women, and immunocompromised persons. Long-term complications, such as reactive arthritis, can also develop.
