A batch of Nothing Naughty brand Premium Pea Protein – Natural Caramel has been recalled across New Zealand after it was found to contain an undeclared milk allergen. The issue arose because Premium Whey Protein was incorrectly labelled as Pea Protein. The recall, issued on November 4, 2025, affects consumers with milk allergies or intolerances, for whom accidental exposure may pose significant health risks. No other Nothing Naughty products are affected.
The recalled product includes:
Nothing Naughty Premium Pea Protein – Natural Caramel (1 kg)
Best Before: 07 APR 27
Packaging: 1 kg glass jar
Distribution: Sold at selected retailers, health stores, and pharmacies across New Zealand.
Consumers are advised to check the date mark printed on the bottom of the jar.
Undeclared milk allergens are a serious concern because people with allergies rely on accurate labels to avoid dangerous reactions. Milk proteins such as casein and whey can trigger rapid and potentially severe responses in sensitive individuals.
For people with mild lactose intolerance, symptoms may include bloating, gas, or digestive discomfort—but for those with true milk allergies, even small amounts can cause medical emergencies.
People who are not allergic to milk are not affected by this recall and can safely consume the product.
