New Zealand Food Safety Issues Allergy Alert for KSK Boy Bawang Cornick Over Undeclared Gluten

March 2, 2026 New Zealand

Green, red, and yellow foil packaging.

New Zealand Food Safety has announced a recall of KSK Boy brand Bawang Cornick Lechon Manok Flavour (90 g) due to the presence of undeclared gluten, posing a risk to individuals with gluten allergy or intolerance.

The recall was initiated by Tai Ping Trading Company Limited after it was identified that the product contains gluten that is not declared on the label. Gluten is a major allergen for people with coeliac disease or gluten intolerance and may cause adverse health reactions if consumed.

The affected product comes in green, red, and yellow foil packaging and was sold at selected retailers throughout New Zealand. The snack was imported from the Philippines and was not re-exported.

Importantly, all batches and all dates of the 90 g pack are included in this recall.

Consumer Advisory

Consumers with a gluten allergy or intolerance are advised:

  • Do not consume the product.

  • Return it to the retailer for a full refund.

  • Seek medical advice if any symptoms occur after consumption.

Those who are not allergic or intolerant to gluten are not at risk.

Retailers have been instructed to display a point-of-sale recall notice in stores for one month to inform customers of the issue.

Consumers with further questions can contact Tai Ping Trading Company Limited directly. Authorities continue to monitor the recall as part of standard food safety procedures.
