Ice cream recalled due to potential presence of 'small stones' or other  hard objects

Danone U.S. has issued a voluntary recall of certain pints of its So Delicious Dairy Free Salted Caramel Cluster Non-Dairy Frozen Dessert after the potential presence of foreign materials, including small stones and other hard objects, was identified in the product.

According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the issue is linked to the cashew pieces used in the ice cream. While no injuries or illnesses have been reported so far, the contamination poses a possible risk of dental injury or choking, prompting the company to act as a precautionary measure.

Company Response

In a statement shared by the FDA, So Delicious Dairy Free said it is “working swiftly with retail partners to remove the potentially impacted product from shelves.” The company also confirmed that the root cause has been identified and corrected, and that the product will return to stores once safety measures are fully ensured.

Consumer Advice

Consumers who have purchased the recalled ice cream are advised not to consume it. They should either dispose of the product immediately or contact So Delicious Dairy Free for a refund.
