Fresh Start Foods Salads Recalled Due to Listeria Risk

Fresh Start Foods has issued a recall for certain salad products due to possible contamination with Listeria monocytogenes, a bacterium that can cause serious illness.

Affected Products

The recall includes the following items:

  • Broccoli Carbonara Salad Kit (3.05 kg)
  • Cavatappi Mac & Cheese (2 x 2.37 kg)
  • Cavatappi Mac & Cheese Kit (2 x 2.37 kg)

These products include multiple lot codes with best-before dates ranging from March 28, 2026 to April 11, 2026.

Health Risk

Listeria monocytogenes can cause listeriosis, a serious infection. Symptoms may include fever, muscle aches, nausea, and diarrhea.

Individuals at higher risk include pregnant women, elderly individuals, and people with weakened immune systems.

  • Intended for hotels, restaurants, and institutions

What to Do

Do not consume, use, sell, serve, or distribute the affected products. Dispose of them safely or return them to the supplier.
