Fran’s Chocolates stated that a supplier notified the company that the almondmilk chocolate ingredient tested positive for trace amounts of hazelnuts. The contamination occurred because the ingredient was processed on shared equipment with other products containing hazelnuts.

The company has confirmed one adverse allergic reaction linked to the consumption of the recalled product. No illnesses or deaths related to other Fran’s products have been reported.
