Goodfood Group Limited has announced a precautionary recall of all batches and all dates of selected Food Snob and Mon Ami brand French cheeses due to the possible presence of Listeria monocytogenes. The recall, issued on 19 August 2025, affects products widely distributed in supermarkets and retail outlets across New Zealand.
Products under recall
All batches and all dates up to and including Best Before 22 September 2025 are affected. These cheeses, made in France, were sold in foil packaging in 125g and 200g formats. No other Food Snob or Mon Ami products are affected.
Distribution
The cheeses were distributed to retail outlets and supermarkets throughout New Zealand. They have not been re-exported.

Listeria monocytogenes is a bacterium that can cause listeriosis, a serious infection particularly dangerous for:
While healthy individuals may experience only mild flu-like symptoms, the infection can be life-threatening for vulnerable groups. Symptoms of listeriosis may include fever, headache, muscle aches, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhoea. They can appear up to several weeks after consuming contaminated food.
Currently, there have been no reported cases of illness linked to these products.
Consumer advice
Consumers are strongly advised not to eat these cheeses. Anyone who has purchased them should return the products to their retailer for a full refund. Those who have eaten the products and are concerned about their health should seek immediate medical advice.
Retailer instructions
Retailers are required to display the official point-of-sale notice for one month to alert customers.
