Fuentes Farms LLC, based in McAllen, Texas, has issued a voluntary recall of 71 boxes of fresh cucumbers due to potential contamination with Salmonella, a harmful bacteria that can cause serious illness in vulnerable populations.

About Salmonella:

Infection may lead to symptoms such as:

  1. Fever
  2. Diarrhea (possibly bloody)
  3. Nausea and vomiting
  4. Abdominal pain

In rare cases, it can result in more severe conditions like endocarditis, arterial infections, or arthritis.

  • Box Size: 40 lbs, labeled “Vegetables” with a black background
  • Sold Between: May 31 to June 3, 2025
  • Where: Local vendors at flea markets in McAllen and Alamo, Texas

What Consumers Should Do:

  • Do not consume or sell cucumbers from Lot #357
  • Dispose of the product safely or return it to the place of purchase
  • No illnesses have been reported so far
