Several plant-based cheddar-flavoured corn snacks sold under the PC Organics and Frankie’s Organic brands have been recalled across Canada because they contain milk that is not declared on the product label.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) issued the recall warning on August 8, 2026. The recall was initiated by Aliments Biologiques Frankie Inc. and affects products distributed nationally, including through online sales. The CFIA has classified the recall as Class 1.
The recall affects several PC Organics plant-based cheddar products, including Plant-Based Cheddar baked corn puffs in 142 g and 336 g packages, Plant-Based Cheddar Jalapeno baked corn puffs in 142 g, and Plant-Based Cheddar baked corn crunchies in 142 g.
The affected PC Organics products carry UPC codes 060383020767, 060383020774, 060383020798 and 060383096168, with specific affected codes including 2027 FE 15, 2027 FE 16, 2027 AL 03 and 2027 MR 26, depending on the product.
The recall also includes Frankie’s Organic Plant-Based Puffs Vegan Cheddar, sold in a 113 g package with UPC 816929000089. The affected codes are 2027 MA 16 and 2027 JL 03.
The products are being recalled because they contain milk that was not declared on the label.
This is a significant allergen-labelling issue because the affected snacks are marketed as plant-based or vegan cheddar products. Consumers with a milk allergy or sensitivity may therefore purchase and consume the products without realizing that milk is present.
The CFIA warns that consuming the recalled products can cause a serious or potentially life-threatening allergic reaction in people who are allergic or sensitive to milk.
The CFIA’s latest recall notice states that reactions associated with consumption of the affected products have been reported.
The agency is currently conducting a food-safety investigation. Depending on the findings, the investigation could lead to additional recalls.
Consumers should check their cupboards and storage areas for the recalled products.
Anyone with a milk allergy or sensitivity should not consume the affected products.
Consumers should also avoid serving, selling, distributing or using the recalled snacks. The CFIA advises that recalled products should either be discarded or returned to the location where they were purchased.
If someone has already consumed a recalled product and experiences symptoms consistent with an allergic reaction, they should seek appropriate medical attention.
The affected products were distributed nationally across Canada and through online channels, meaning the recall is not limited to a particular province or retailer.
The Government of Canada’s recall database continues to list the PC Organics and Frankie’s Organic snack recall among its food recalls issued within the past seven days, confirming that it is a current August 2026 recall.
The recall was triggered by the company, Aliments Biologiques Frankie Inc.
The CFIA is working with the industry to ensure that the affected products are removed from the Canadian marketplace while its food-safety investigation continues. The agency has indicated that further recalls are possible depending on the outcome of the investigation.

Consumers should not rely solely on the product name or the word “plant-based” or “vegan” when managing a milk allergy. Checking the specific product, UPC and affected lot/date code is important because the recall applies only to identified products and codes.
Consumers with a milk allergy or sensitivity should not eat the recalled products.
