Consumers are being warned after One Living recalled its Organic Raspberry & Pomegranate Kombucha due to a dangerous over-fermentation issue that could cause bottle caps to suddenly pop off and potentially injure consumers.

The recall affects:

  • Product: One Living Organic Raspberry & Pomegranate Kombucha
  • Pack size: 330 ml
  • Best-before date: 14 December 2026

According to the recall alert, the kombucha may continue fermenting inside the bottle, leading to pressure build-up. As a result, the bottle caps may unexpectedly eject or burst open, creating a risk of injury from flying caps or splashing liquid.

Food safety authorities warned that consumers attempting to open the bottles could face:

  • Eye injuries
  • Cuts or bruises
  • Facial injuries
  • Injuries caused by shattered packaging or sudden pressure release

Because of the safety risk, consumers are specifically advised not to open the affected bottles under any circumstances.

Instead, customers should:

  • Avoid unnecessary handling of the product
  • Safely dispose of the bottle in an external waste bin
  • Contact One Living with proof of purchase for a full refund

The company has also confirmed that point-of-sale recall notices are being displayed in stores selling the product to inform customers about the hazard.

Although no injuries have been officially reported so far, authorities are treating the issue seriously due to the unpredictable pressure build-up caused by over-fermentation in fermented beverages like kombucha.

Consumers seeking additional information or refunds can contact One Living through their customer support email.
